Some people are born with malformed or unsightly ears, that is, with an unusual format. Best known as "floppy ears", characterized by more distanced lateral edge of the head, looking so be higher. The otoplasty surgery corrects this change by decreasing the distance between the rear face of the ear and the scalp, thus obtaining an ear with more natural appearance.
The surgery is ambulatory and the type of anesthesia used is local with mild sedation. After surgery the patient should avoid sun exposure, physical exertion and should use an elastic band to protect the ears during the period of 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the doctor's recommendation.
